Diana Lou Stalsberg

Diana Lou Stalsberg (January 27, 1945 – March 16, 2026) has officially decided she’s had enough of our nonsense and moved on to a place where the weather is always 80 degrees and the puzzles are never missing a piece. She was a woman who lived by her own rules, usually involving a sharp joke and a fiercely protective glare for anyone who messed with her family. As the heart of our family, she was the perfect mix of deeply loving and "feisty as all hell," leaving behind a legacy of laughter and a family that was never quite sure if she was being serious or just trying to get a rise out of them.

She spent her career as a CNA in the birth center, showing up for others with the same grit and care she showed everyone she met. After her career, she dedicated that same energy to her grandkids and great-grandchildren. She was there for every single one of them, stepping in to help with absolutely anything they needed without a second thought. Whether she was getting lost in a good book or "persuading" her sister to tend to her beautiful gardens, she did it with a spirit that couldn't be tamed. She was a "bonus Nana" to anyone who needed one, proving that her heart always had plenty of room for everyone.

Diana was one of eight children and now joins her parents, four siblings, two of her children, and her grandson who went on ahead to get the party started. Her legacy continues through her children: Sherri (Bob) Sting, Gennie Kay (Joseph) Rychlicki, and Gene (Theresa) Stalsberg. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren (and 7 spouses) and 17 great-grandchildren who will carry on her spirit. It is impossible to contain such a wonderful, vibrant woman in just a few short paragraphs, but we will deeply miss her warmth and her fierce presence. While we know she would probably give us a real hard time about how we wrote this, she’d likely just end up laughing at us in the end.

A celebration of Diana’s life will be held on April 19 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus, 11105 Dixie Hwy, Birch Run, MI 48415. At 1:00 PM, we will have a time for anyone who wishes to stand up and share their favorite memories and stories of Nana, with a lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the family to help with final expenses and a memorial in her honor.   To sign the online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
