JoAnn Steinpres, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2026 after a long journey with health issues. She was born in Manistque, Michigan, to the late Ruth (Strehl) and Clifford Gauthier. But eventually found her roots in the Tri City area, after marrying John Steinpres on October 10, 1959. Spending time with family and friends brought her great joy, especially while golfing at White Birch Hills. Other hobbies included rides to the casino, poker parties, traveling , and listening to Elvis.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Fahnanstiel; grandchildren, Nicholas Harness, Heather Harness, Megan (Gregory) Kapp, and Jermey Comtois and his mother Lisa; great-grandchildren, Halaina, Ethan, Lucy, Paisly, Willow, and Jemma; a sister-in-law, Donna Gauthier; three nieces; and many extended family and friends. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, John Steinpres; son, Jeffery Steinpres; brother, John Gauthier; granddaughter, April Garcia, and son-in-law, William Fahnanstiel.
It was Joann's wish that no service be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
