Our beloved mother, Jennie Martinez, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. Jennie was married to Conception Martinez until his death from cancer in 1981. Jennie enjoyed going for long rides, dances, and the casino. She loved being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, which made her laugh and light up even when she was in pain. She said they kept her young.
Jennie is survived by her children, Rosa Mendoza, Ruby Ybanez, Manuel Martinez (Reyes), Clara Monsivais (Prisciliano), Martha Sloan (Gary); her siblings, Cruz Alacron, David Pargas (Lisa), Joe Pargas (Celeste), and Dee Johnson (Mark). Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Conception Martinez; her sons, Johnny Martinez, Raymond Martinez, and Tommy Martinez; grandsons, Matthew LaForest, Hector Ybanez, and Johnny James Martinez; her mother, Ruby Pargas; father, Manuel Martinez; siblings, Mary Pacheco, Vicky Trujillo, and Jimmy Martinez.
Per Jennie’s wishes no funeral service will take place. She will be cremated and buried next to her husband, and son, Raymond Martinez. The family would like to thank First State Hospice, her nurse Carrie, nurse’s aid Abby, and Chaplain Viola, for the compassionate and wonderful care they gave her.
