Obituary of Patrick Michael Lanagan
Patrick Michael Lanagan, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2025.
Patrick lived in Bay City Michigan most of his life.
Patrick was born a twin on December 11, 1961 at the Navel Hospital in Jacksonville FL to his parents, Lois A. Lanagan and William S. Lanagan III who preceded him in death.
Patrick was a 1980 graduate of John Glenn High School. After High School Patrick found himself in a community of many friends through Bay Arenac Community Mental Health. Patrick attended The Opportunity Center and worked briefly through those programs.
Patrick enjoyed spending time with his family especially his father and brothers playing Cribbage for hours at the dining room table and throwing Horseshoes in the backyard. Patrick also enjoyed spending the holidays with all of his family members and his friends at Bay House. Patrick strived to be a helper and was always a gentleman. Of the many things Patrick enjoyed in his life he enjoyed going to Carroll Park and Bigelow Park to feed the ducks or to just be outdoors in nature. Patrick enjoyed listening to Oldies music and watching reruns of Gilligan’s Island. As a youngster Patrick sold ice cream and delivered the Bat City Times. Later in his life he started to go bowling and found it a fun activity to do with his friends.
Patrick was preceded in death by siblings Deborah A. Lanagan, and Douglas E. Lanagan Sr.
Patrick had no children and is survived by his siblings, William S. and (Susan) Lanagan IV; nieces and nephews, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Lyndsay, Kelly, Christopher, Joseph, and William V, Brien D. A Celebration of Patrick’s Life will take place at a later date as cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions in-care of his twin sister Patricia Paine for the purpose of an activity for his friends and staff at Bay House who loved and cared for him for many years.
Patrick’s family would like to express gratitude for those who became a friend and cared for their beloved brother over the years. We are forever thankful and especially for the staff at Bay House whose work is filled with love and may not always be an easy one.
