Kim Wilmer Fritz passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 31, 2025 with his family by his side. This, after his long journey with Alzheimer’s. He was born March 5, 1955 in Cass City, Michigan. The son of the late Wilmer and Natalie Fritz. Kim graduated from Lapeer High School in 1974. Kim and Sheila met while attending Cass City Junior High School and began a lifetime together. They were married October 19th, 1974 near Escanaba, Michigan in Stonington Lutheran Church on the Stonington Peninsula along the shores of the Little Bay DeNoc. A celebration followed at Kim's Uncle Ron and Aunt Marian Bearss home. Music was provided by a fun group of people that played a washboard, jugs, spoons, and a variety of other homemade instruments. Kim and Sheila celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, October 19th, 2024 with a party. Left to be cherished and greatly missed by his wife, Sheila, sons, Gary Kim Fritz, Brian John (Jessica) Fritz, Favorite grandson Evan Kim Fritz and “Grand” daughters Autumn, Aubrey and Rylin Fritz. An abundance of love given by Dale and Julane Fritz, Kyle and Dylan. Darrell and Lisa Yens, Sarah, Herb, Mike, Katie and Shane. Susan Guc, Steve and Sheryl Shaw, Jack and Chris Guc, Randy and Sandy Kelley, Jamie and Caren Guc. Nieces and nephews that Kim kept laughing are Pam, Mark, Holly, Lisa, Jason, Brent, Megan, Eli, Lis, Kirstin, Hudson, Nicole and Brandon. Wonderful friends too numerous to mention. Kim enjoyed hunting, fishing, biking and camping. His favorite place to be was on the St. Clair River. The time we had with Kim was never going to be enough. He blessed us with his presence so much longer than we could have imagined. He once told Sheila, “we will go as long as we can go”. Our sincere gratitude to Dr. Rajput, Dr. Tackabury, Dr. Fram and Kris Gladki. Cheryl with the Lapeer Health Department. Marlette Hospice visiting nurse Julie, as well as Courtney and Brad. I'm sorry not to include the many other compassionate, caring, loving caretakers. Sheila, Gary, Brian, Jessica, Evan, Autumn, Aubrey and Rylin extend our appreciation for the many years of love and support given selflessly by our family, friends and neighbors. As many of you know Kim ate a lot of oatmeal. It was fitting to say that when Kim arrived in heaven, he exclaimed, “no more oatmeal!” Half a Cup Steve has ordered Kim, steak and eggs. No service is planned at this time. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
