Obituary of Thomas Alexander Pierce
Thomas A Pierce
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed peacefully
thanks to the Palliative and Hospice Care Team at the VA Hospital on Sunday
February 9, 2025 at the age of 78.
The son of the late Thomas and Mildred (MacFarlane) Pierce was born May 23, 1946.
Tom attended SHS and Delta College and proudly served the U S Army in Germany
and then Viet Nam as a combat soldier in 67-68. He married his wife of 57 years,
Barbara Pavlicek on June 5, 1967 and had two children. Tom retired from Delphi
Chassis (Old Transmission) after serving 30 years. He was a proud member of
Faith Lutheran Church of Bridgeport and loved attending Bible Study class. He
truly enjoyed his church family. Tom was an avid reader and dearly loved history.
He did some woodworking and made several items for the home. He enjoyed
traveling, fishing, hunting, and camping, campfires and especially enjoyed grilling
with his son. He proudly served as an Honor Guard for fellow veterans and
belonged to the VFW in Birch Run. He was a devoted grandfather to his grandson
Michael and girls Shelby and Emma whom he loved dearly.
Surviving beside his wife, Barbara are their two children Thomas A Pierce II and
Shawn M Pierce and her husband Mike Psiuk: grandchildren Shelby, Emma and
Michael Pierce; brothers and sisters Karen Johnson, Suzanne Lewis, Kathy
Niedecken, Nancy Smith, Steven (Patti) Pierce, David (Tracy) Pierce, and sister in
law Erlinda Pierce. Predeceased are his parents and his brother Michael Pierce.
A funeral service will be held Friday February 28th at Faith Lutheran Church
4241 Williamson Rd, Bridgeport Mi. Pastor Behnke will officiate.
The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with service at 12:00 p.m.
