Obituary of Ronald Richard Schroeder

Ronald Richard Schroeder, age 93, affectionately known as Ron, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 15, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan. Born on June 6, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, Ron's journey through life was marked by his unwavering kindness, a brilliant mind for electronics, and a warm, engaging personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Ron was a proud graduate of Lapeer High School, class of 1949, where he was known for his quick wit and friendly nature. After graduation, he answered the call of duty and served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. It was in the Navy that Ron honed his skills as an electronics wizard, a talent that he would carry with him throughout his life. Upon returning to civilian life, Ron continued to dazzle with his technical expertise and became a respected figure in the world of electronics. His passion for tinkering and innovation was evident to all who knew him. Ron's work not only reflected his sharp intellect but also his desire to connect with others, as he often shared his knowledge with colleagues and friends. In his personal life, Ron was a devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcia, whose memory he cherished until his last days.

Together, they raised a family of four sons, Robert (Jill) Schroeder, Eric (deceased), Michael (Melissa) Schroeder, and Ron Jr. (Lisa) Schroeder. Ron took immense pride in his family and found joy in the achievements and adventures of his children. The family tree continued to flourish with the addition of his grandson, Joshua Schroeder, granddaughter, Celia, granddaughter, Loni Schroeder, grandson, Ryan (Shelbie) Schroeder and his future great grandson Eric. Ron's legacy grew even richer with the birth of his great-granddaughter, Kenlea Schroeder. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchild, instilling in them the values of curiosity, kindness, and perseverance.

Ron's interests extended beyond his family and work. He was an avid golfer, finding serenity on the greens and engaging in friendly competition. His love for fishing took him to tranquil waters where he enjoyed the simplicity of nature. Friends and family often joked that Ron could strike up a conversation with anyone, especially while on a cruise ship with his lady friend Donna, a testament to his personable nature. His hobby of watch collecting and repair reflected his meticulous attention to detail and patience. Throughout his life, Ron made it a point to be present in the moment, whether he was perfecting his golf swing, reeling in a catch, or sharing stories with loved ones. His infectious laughter and sage advice will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
