Obituary of Michael John St. Laurent

Michael J. St. Laurent, 72, of Bay City, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 6, 1952, to Joan and Joseph St. Laurent, Michael lived a full and happy life, marked by creativity, curiosity, and a warmhearted spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Michael was a man of many talents and passions. A skilled musician, he brought joy to others through his love of music. He found peace on the water as an avid fisherman and was always ready to fix, build, or tinker with something. His love for a good treasure hunt made him a dedicated garage sale enthusiast, always on the lookout for a hidden gem. He also had a notorious sweet tooth and never turned down a good bowl of chocolate peanut butter ice cream. Above all, Michael was known for his warm, enthusiastic personality and his ability to make others feel valued and at ease.

Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela L. St. Laurent, with whom he shared over 50 years of love and laughter. He was the proud father of two daughters, Stephanie M. Trimble (Aaron) and Sarah Bettenhausen (Brent), and a doting grandfather to Coryn Strike (Josh), Jalise Anthony (Josh), Colin Jones, Tobias Bettenhausen, and Beau Bettenhausen. His family was the heart of his world, and his love for them knew no bounds.

He is also survived by his siblings Ann (David) Talaga, Joan (Stan) Rusiecki, Pat (Phillip) Matthews, Kevin (Audrey) St. Laurent, Ed (Jamie) St. Laurent, and sisters-in-law Carol (William) St. Laurent, and Lois (Richard) St. Laurent - who cherished his humor, generosity, and steady presence. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Joan and Joseph St. Laurent, and his brothers Richard, William, and Robert St. Laurent.

Michael’s legacy is one of kindness, creativity, and an unshakable zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but will be remembered in every familiar song, every shared laugh, and every cherished memory.
