Obituary of Timothy Damon Burch

Timothy Damon Burch, known affectionately to friends and family as Tim, embarked on his final journey on February 18, 2025, after a life well-lived and filled with the joy of simple pleasures. Born on December 28, 1960, in the vibrant city of Lansing, Tim's life was a testament to the power of joy, laughter, and the deep love of family and faith.  Tim's early years in Lansing laid a foundation of resilience and ingenuity that would characterize his life. Tim's intellectual curiosity and mastery of his craft as a machinist and craftsman spoke volumes of his commitment to lifelong learning and excellence. His hands were not only skilled but were also an extension of his generous heart, always creating, fixing, and giving.  Tim's zest for life was equally evident outside of work. His love for the great outdoors was shared with his beloved daughter, Sara Burch. Together, they navigated the tranquil waters of rivers and lakes, their kayaks slicing through the water as they engaged in heartfelt conversations or enjoyed companionable silence. Fishing was more than a hobby; it was a sacred time for bonding, reflecting, and relishing nature's bounty. Music was another of Tim's passions, a universal language that he wielded with the same precision as his tools. Whether he was strumming his guitar, plucking the banjo, or drawing soulful melodies from his harmonica, Tim's music was a source of joy and inspiration to all who had the pleasure of listening. Karaoke nights were never dull with Tim around, his infectious enthusiasm and humor transforming any gathering into a celebration of life. A man of deep faith, Tim's relationship with Jesus was the cornerstone of his existence. His faith was his compass, guiding him through life's storms and sunlit days alike. Tim's spirituality was not just a personal sanctuary but also a wellspring of strength that he shared generously with everyone around him. Making people laugh was Tim's gift to the world, a reminder that happiness is a choice and that every moment holds the potential for joy. His jokes and stories were not merely words but sparks that ignited laughter and light in the eyes of those around him. Tim leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, embodied by his daughter Sara, his brothers Richard, Mark, Roger, Keith, and Scott, and his sister Karen. They, along with everyone whose lives he touched, will carry forward his indomitable spirit.  As we reflect on Tim's life, let us remember that each day is a canvas awaiting our brushstrokes.
