Robert Wood

Obituary of Robert Arthur Wood

Robert "Bert" Wood, born July 30, 1957, to Lawrence & Betty (Doll) Wood, passed peacefully on February 24, 2025. While Bert was born in Alma, he and his family moved to Sanford, Michigan when he was just 5 years old and you'd never come across another guy that was more proud to be a "Sanford Boy". Bert loved boating on Sanford Lake, ice fishing with his best buddy, Virgil Lavier, son Mitchell Wood, brother Bernie Wood, and several others, as well. He also enjoyed hunting and summer campouts and riding his four-wheeler. Most of all, Bert loved being a Grandpa "Grampy", to his three favorite littles, Colt, Macy, and Dalton. Bert was full of love and always enjoyed making people laugh. He loved all of his kids’ friends and their children as if they were his own. Bert is preceded in death by his father Lawrence Wood, little brother, Bernard "Bo" Wood, and lifelong best friend, Virgil Laveir. Bert leaves behind so many close friends and his beloved family, Mother, Betty Wood, son Mitchell Wood, Daughter Mikayla Moore, Grandchildren Colt Robert Moore, Macy Elaine Marie Moore and Dalton Robert Wood. Siblings, Joanne Koons, Michael (Shelli) Wood, Barb (Jeff) Rossi, Nancy (Torbjorn) Fries, the mother of his children and former wife of 29 years, Brenda Wood and many neices, nephews, great-neices and nephews that he loved so dearly. To honor Berts wishes, he will be cremated and a bonfire celebration of life will take place during the summer months. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
