Obituary of Addie Mae Laury

Ms. Addie Mae Laury "Oakes" peacefully transitioned, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at home with her children in Saginaw Michigan at age 73 years.  Addie was born March 24, 1951 in Ittabena, Mississippi to Nathan and Jimmie (Tolden) Laury.

Addie graduated at Saginaw High School and became employed at General Motors until 1981 and bought her home.  Addie worked as a Secretary for Saginaw Public Schools and attended Delta College and received an associate in health science and went on to work in Healthcare for many years.  Addie also played softball and volleyball on city league teams with her siblings and friends.  Addie lived in Indianapolis, IN for five years to help with raising her grand and great grandchildren.  Her Father and Mother was her heart and soul with her siblings being her first loves and special bonds with her nephews and nieces.  Addie enjoyed fishing and family gatherings with some cards, bingo, and dominoes.

Great-Grandchildren: Emery, Aubrey, Gabriel, Marshon, Carter, Izaeh, Domineek, Promise, Siere, ZaNyia, Kartier, Marreese. Siblings: Charles Laury, Wardell Laury, Nathan(Rita) Laury, Jacqueline(Lorenzo) Jacocks, all of Saginaw, MI. Janet Kelly-Ballard or Lansing, MI. Sister-in-laws: Dawn Elder and Dora Tyson. Nephews and Nieces: Teleo (Natasha) Laury of Atlanta, GA, Deaundre (Jessica) Laury of Fort Wayne, IN. Tiara Davis of South Bend, IN. Ms. Laury was preceded in death by parents Nathan and Jimmie Laury. Son-in-law: Anthony Ivy. Grandson: Cary Davis. Brothers: Matthew and Kenneth "Laury" James, Nathan, George, Walter "Lowery". Sisters: Dorothy and Earnestine "Laury". Uncles: Charlie Tolden, Walter(Ardia), Ike(Bernice), Issac(Evelyn) Laury. Aunts: Shavanna Jones, Rodella Greer, Rosa Coleman, Louise Banks, Joeanna Green, Esthel Bibbs, Wilma Burett. Nieces: Kizzy and Tanika Laury. Nephews: Floyd Thomas Jr, Jimmie Black, Wardell Hayes.
