Vincent “Vinnie” Edward Pardo III

March 3, 1963 - February 28, 2025

Saginaw, MI

Vincent Edward Pardo III, known to all as “Vinnie”, was a beacon of laughter and kindness in a world that so often needed it. Born on March 3, 1963, in the close-knit community of Saginaw, Michigan, Vinnie's jovial spirit and selfless nature were instilled in him from a young age. He brought his light back to his hometown where he peacefully passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with cancer. His life was a testament to the joy and love he shared with everyone he met.

Vinnie was a man whose smile and vibrant spirit were as rich as his commitment to his family. A proud graduate of Swan Valley High School, where his affable personality and friendly demeanor made him a friend to many. Vinnie's early sense of duty and service was evident in his decision to join the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country with honor and dedication. He carried the discipline and strength he learned in the military throughout his life, most notably into his long-standing career as a dependable driver at UPS, a role that allowed him to connect with numerous community members, many of whom became lifelong friends. At work, Vinnie was known for his punctuality and his uncanny ability to lighten the mood, where his friendly waves and warm smiles were a staple on his routes.

Vinnie's life was guided by love and pride for his family. He recently married his soulmate, Terri Pardo Sly, and together they nurtured his final days with joy and love. Terri always said, “We aren’t going to count the days, we are going to make them count!” His daughter, Mandy Lynn Pardo, and her partner, Nate Cave, brought him immense pride, and his role as a grandfather to Elliot Patterson and Rose Cave was one he cherished above all others. His home was one filled with the pitter-patter of paws and the soft purring of his beloved pets. His dog, Nola, and his four cats, Ainsley, Louis, Jacques, and Claude, were more than just animals to him; they were an integral part of his life, receiving all the love and attention a pet could wish for.

A man of many interests, nothing brought Vinnie more joy than the time spent with his grandchildren. Whether it was sharing stories, sharing his love of music, or just being present for the everyday moments. He had a special bond with his grandson, Elliot. Many always told Elliot how much he resembled his grandpa, in looks and in personality. Elliot was always the son Vinnie always dreamed of having. His newest grandbaby, Rose, stole his heart immediately and brought back memories of raising his own little girl. Vinnie's heartwarming presence and the special bonds he shared with each of his grandchildren will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Known for his high energy spirit and an ever-loving heart, Vinnie’s ability to light up a room was unparalleled. His smile was infectious, and his jokes were a source of delight for everyone around him. Vinnie's passion for his Detroit teams knew no bounds. Whether it was the crack of the bat at a Tigers game or the roar of the crowd at a Lions game, Vinnie's enthusiasm was contagious. He shared this love with his family and friends, creating a fellowship of fans who revealed both victory and defeat.

Those who knew Vinnie will remember him as someone who was kind, selfless, and generous. He had a unique ability to make people laugh even in the most trying of times, and his generosity knew no bounds. Vinnie's selflessness was seen in his constant willingness to help others, often putting their needs before his own. His friendly and spirited nature made him a joy to be around, and he cultivated friendships that were as enduring as they were meaningful. He had a rare ability to connect with people from all walks of life, leaving a lasting impression of warmth and genuine kindness. He was called “The Mayor,” for always conversing and creating genuine bonds with anyone he came into contact with. His presence could light up a room, and his absence will leave a void that cannot be filled.

The legacy Vinnie leaves behind will be carried forward by those who knew him best—his loving family, a wide circle of friends, and the countless lives he touched with his presence. He will be deeply missed, but the memories of his jovial spirit, witty personality, and his immense heart will continue to bring comfort and smiles to all who were fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy of love, grit, and a life richly lived will resonate for generations to come. We take comfort in knowing that Vinnie's journey was one of purpose and pleasure, marked by the love he gave and the love he received. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, the essence of who he was—a kind, loving, and spirited man—will forever be etched in our hearts.
