Obituary of Leonard Wilbert Young

Leonard Wilbert Young, age 68, of Ubly Michigan died Sunday morning, March 2, 2025 surrounded by his family at his daughter’s home while under hospice care. He was born July 5, 1956 in Pigeon, Michigan to the late Charles and Grace Young (Ellis) and grew up on the family farm southeast of Elkton. He was a 1975 graduate of Laker High School.

Leonard had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, gardening and helping his friends with many projects. He also enjoyed crocheting afghans for those he dearly loved.  

Left to cherish his memory are his three children Imagene (Jay) Morell of Chesaning, Leonard (Brenda) Young of Pigeon and Sylinda (Matt) Bruce of Galesburg. Grandchildren Makayla (Jared) Hebden, Isabella (Gavin) Patterson and Dillan Morell, Blake Soens, Mikayla, Kierra and Noah Young, Lupita Young (her mom Melisa Raymond), Hunter and Delaney Bruce. Great Granddaughter Melody Hebden. Siblings Linda Wetter of Bad Axe, Sally (Brian) Sweeney of Ubly, Elaine (Don) Long of Bad Axe, Edward, Robert and Ronald Young also of Bad Axe. Leonard is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding him in death were his son Jason Allen Young, his brother-in-law Harry Wetter, and the mother of his children Isabel Besaw. 

The family would like to express their many thanks to Brian, Sara, Alivia, and Derek Lubeski for loving our dad just as much as we did. Know he loved each of you even more.
