Obituary of Lynn Charles Oberg
Please share a memory of Lynn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lynn "Carp" Charles Oberg, born on February 14, 1956, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2025, in Pinconning, Michigan.
Lynn is survived by the love of his life, Anne Oberg; and his children, Dominic (Amy) Hagerty, Timothy Oberg, and Mallory Oberg. He was a proud and loving Papa to Bethany, Victoria, and Asher Hagerty, as well as Landon and Kennedy Graham.
An avid outdoorsman, Lynn found joy in fishing, birdwatching, gardening, and gathering around a fire with family while calling in barred owls. His love for nature was matched only by his deep appreciation for music-a passion he passed down to his children.
Lynn will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews for his humor and warmth. He shared a special bond with Jennifer Jones over their Lions game day parlays and was often the target of his good friend and neighbor, Chad "The Peach" Sajdak’s good-natured jokes. He also endured the many antics of Anne and her sister Maureen with good humor, often finding solace in a few cold ones or a cup of coffee alongside his brother-in-law Todd while watching the Tigers play.
A man of faith known for his kindness, generosity, intelligence, and quick wit, Lynn never missed an opportunity to share a joke or convince someone to take a shot of his favorite tequila or homemade eggnog.
His presence brought laughter and warmth to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
His surviving siblings include Terance (Chris) Oberg of Santa Monica, California, and Richard Oberg of Bay City, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Clara (Miller) Oberg; twin sister Linda Donn of Laramie, Wyoming; sister Valerie Wheelock of Creswell, Oregon; and brother Donald Oberg Jr. of Santa Monica, California.
