Obituary of Carol Louise Griebe

Carol Louise Griebe, affectionately known as Nana, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, in Pinconning, Michigan, at the age of 87. Born on November 7, 1937, in Bay City, Michigan, Carol's life was marked by her no-nonsense spirited nature, adventurous soul, and selfless love for her family and friends.

Carol's journey began as the heart of a loving family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Carol (Dave) Middleton, Ronda Griebe, and Alicia (Chris) Kelch, and an adopted daughter, Jennifer Phelps. Her role as Nana was one she cherished deeply, sharing an unbreakable bond with her grandchildren, Keneesha (Cody) Burleson, Kegan Thomas, and Logan Kelch. Carol's life was further enriched by her marriage to her beloved husband, Bill Griebe, with whom she shared 52 years of unwavering partnership, playful bickering, and love until his passing.

Those who knew Carol will remember her for the joy she brought into their lives. Her friendships were a testament to her loyalty and warmth, especially her lifelong connections with Pauline Snider and Arlene Helm. Carol's presence was a source of comfort and laughter, and she had the remarkable ability to make every moment count.

Carol's adventurous spirit was evident in her spontaneous travels, often venturing to Newberry to embrace precious time with her grandchildren. She was known for her "kidnappings," where she would whisk her grandkids away for unexpected adventures, creating memories that they would cherish forever. Carol's love for her family extended to the baseball fields, where she was a constant presence, cheering on her grandson's games and practices with enthusiasm and pride.

For over 40 years, Carol was a dedicated member of the Pinconning congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength, guidance, and a community of friends who shared her beliefs and values.

Carol's family takes comfort in knowing that she lived a life rich in experiences, surrounded by the people she loved, and that her story will be told with smiles and fondness for generations to come.

Nana's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her family and friends find solace in the countless happy memories and the enduring impact of her love.
