Obituary of Frederick Henry Heater

Frederick Henry Heater, a beloved husband, father, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 71 on March 12, 2025, in Midland, MI. Born on November 9, 1953, in West Branch, MI, Frederick, known for his intelligence, humor, and loving nature, led a life rich in experiences and relationships.

After graduating from Mott High School, Frederick embarked on a diverse career path. He painted with precision and pride as a Commercial Painter before shifting gears to become a Long Haul Semi Truck Driver. His dedication to safety and skill on the road earned him accolades, including awards for driving millions of miles without a single accident. Later in life, Frederick fulfilled a dream of entrepreneurship by becoming the owner of a local hardware store, where he shared his knowledge and friendly banter with the community he cherished.

Frederick grew up across the street from the love of his life, Denise.  After her husband Leon Gersten passed away in 1994, Fred came back into her life and built a family, welcoming her son Anton Gersten as his own. The Heater household was always filled with laughter and the kind of warmth that only a tight-knit family can generate. Frederick's role as a husband and father was the one he valued most, and he approached it with the same level of commitment and excellence that characterized his professional endeavors.

An avid outdoorsman, Frederick found peace and joy in the serenity of nature. He spent countless hours hunting and fishing, often accompanied by close friends or family members who shared his passion. NASCAR races were another of Frederick's favorite pastimes; he spent many years cheering on the late Dale Earnhardt and enjoyed the excitement of the track.

Road trips were yet another avenue for adventure for Frederick. Whether it was a spontaneous weekend getaway or a meticulously planned cross-country journey, he welcomed the open road with enthusiasm. These trips were more than just travel for Frederick; they were opportunities to create lasting memories with his loved ones.

Frederick's sense of humor was legendary among those who knew him. He had a gift for storytelling and could light up a room with his wit. His laughter was infectious, and he had a knack for making everyone around him feel at ease. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Frederick will remember him as a man who could find humor in any situation.

Above all, Frederick was a loving individual who cherished his time with family and friends. He genuinely showed interest in the lives of others. He was a pillar of strength, support, and love to all who were lucky enough to be part of his life. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his legacy will continue to live on through the stories, lessons, and love he shared.
