Tracee Mari Morton-Gough
January 8, 1973 – March 27, 2025
Tracee Mari Morton-Gough, age 52, of Deckerville, MI, passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 8, 1973, Tracee was the cherished daughter of the late Henry C. Morton and Karen S. (Morton) Petteys. She grew up in Deckerville, where she embraced life with joy, humor, and a deep love for making others smile. Known for her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and ability to lift the hearts of those around her, Tracee brought warmth and happiness to everyone she met.
When her children began attending Deckerville Schools, Tracee became an active volunteer, wanting to stay close to them. Over time, her involvement led to a beloved role as a lunch aide.
She brought light to the lunchroom, greeting each student by name, sharing jokes, and brightening their days with her whimsical hats, funky earrings, and kind heart. Tracee’s life was filled with family, friendship, and laughter. She had a gift for finding joy in everyday moments and for sharing that joy with others. She is survived by her devoted husband, Harold Gough; her beloved children, Lillian Gough and Grady Gough; her mother, Karen S. (Morton) Petteys (Dale Cowley); her brother, Tony Morton (Graciela Morton); her sister, Tammi Johnson (Russ Winiarski); and her lifelong best friend, Angie Talaski. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A private memorial will be held at the family pond, a place where Tracee created countless cherished memories with her loved ones. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and the echoes of her laughter, her family will honor her life in the place she loved most.
Tracee will be reunited with her father, Henry Morton, in eternal peace. Her love, kindness, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
