Joyce Terry, age 85, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, with her loving husband, Jim, of 69 years by her side. She was born November 11, 1939, to the late Dale and Marie Hankins. 

Joyce enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. She loved completing crossword puzzles, playing cards and Dominoes, perusing garage sales, and using her quick wit in political debates. 

Affectionately known as “Grambo,” Joyce will be remembered fondly as a feisty grandma who spoiled her grandkids with cakes, pies, and special “Happy Birthday” calls. Joyce’s fly-swatting skills were unmatched. You could always count on Joyce to have a surplus of handy gadgets and treasures.  On December 31, 1955, she married Jimmie Terry in Detroit, Michigan.           

 Joyce is survived by her husband Jim; her daughter Lisa (Michael) Poniewierski; four grandchildren: Jill (James) Taite, Sara (Brian Carlson) Terry, James Poniewierski, Jari (Andrew) Pathenos; eleven great grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Jayden, Jonah, Elijah, Simone, Cameron, Sebastian, Aislynn, Eleni, and Audrey; beloved nephew David Lafreniere; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Dale and Marie Hankins; her son Mark Terry; her granddaughter Rachel Terry; her sister Wanda Stevenson; and her brother Dibrell Hankins.  

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
