Obituary of Chad Michael Darby

Chad Michael Darby of Freeland, MI was born August 15, 1967 in Saginaw, MI. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, Grandpa (Papa), son-in-law, brother, uncle and loyal friend. Chad was unexpectedly taken away for an eternal hunting trip May 8, 2025.  It was never about the big buck as the peacefulness of being in the woods was what meant so much to him.  Hunting, Fishing, and sitting around the campfire at the family cabin in Houghton Lake were also much enjoyed. 

Chad met his beloved future wife Jody (Beck) 39 years ago at a teen dance. They were married in June 1990.  They were then blessed with their beautiful daughter, Haley.  His son-in law Cory Konop was then brought into the family and became a good friend to Chad as well.  Together, Haley and Cory gave Chad his greatest gift which was being a Papa.   Bennett was his grandson, best buddy, and righthand man.  The two of them enjoyed the outdoors, picking pears, and sitting together in the sandbox. Being a family man, Chad made it a priority to have weekly dinners together as his enjoyment came from being with the ones he loved.
