Obituary of Rowland Levi Anderson
Rowland Levi Anderson, age 67, of St. Louis, Michigan passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 with his family at his side. He was born on June 19, 1957, to Thelma and Harry Anderson in Three Rivers, Michigan. Rollie married the love of his life, Debra VanDemark on July 29, 1977, in Alma, Michigan. Rollie always referred to her as his lovely bride. They celebrated 47 wonderful years together.
Rollie and Deb had three children, and they have always been his entire world, never missing a chance to mention how proud of them he was. He had so much enjoyment spending time with his family and friends playing euchre, sitting around a campfire and watching his grandbabies play. Rollie never met a stranger or missed an opportunity to make a new friend. He was a dad and papa to many.
He worked at Lobdell Emery (Oxford Automotive) for 26 years and then continued his career as a Pipe Fitter for 15 years for Three Rivers Corporation. He was well liked and made many friends on the job. He was the first to arrive every morning to make coffee for all the guys.
When his children were teenagers, they spent their summers at the racetrack cheering him on and supporting their dad as he raced. Rollie often referred to himself as a Jack of all trades and a master of none. In his children’s eyes there was nothing their dad couldn’t do. You could always find Rollie in his garage with a cold Bud Light working on something, building something or watching football. He was a loyal Lions fan. He took great pride in building furniture for his family and designing carts for Rollie’s Trollies. In retirement he found more time to spend at the lake and even became the appointed governor of the campground. When the weather was nice you could find him on the golf course. One of his proudest moments was when he got his hole in one at the Fields.
Rollie is survived by his lovely bride, Deb; his children, Paul and Kelly Anderson, Alison and Josh Hamp, Natalie Anderson and Ricky Garcia; his grandbabies, Haven, Sabrina, Kennedy, Jackson, Alexis, Hayden, Katie, Jacqueline and Harper; his first great-grandbaby and name sake, Daemon Rowland Anderson; his sisters, Joy Hardman, Irene Kloeckner, Diane Randles, and Kim Trgina; brother-in-law ,Ted Trgina; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Harry; mother and father-in law, Alan and Donna VanDemark; brothers, Bob and Boney (Rodney); and sister-in-law, Theresa Beard.
A celebration of his wonderful life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:00pm, at the American Legion Hall, 156 W. Saginaw Street, Breckenridge MI 48615. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
