Winonda Faye Green

January 11, 1953 – May 13, 2025

Winonda, lovingly known as “Win,” passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025 at the age of 72. Born on January 11, 1953, Win was the oldest of four siblings and a guiding light in so many lives. She was a strong, loving woman whose spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Win was the beloved mother of three children: Kenneth (Lindsey), Brian, and Heather (Jason), and a proud grandmother to River, Rylee, McKinley, and Easton. She also shared a meaningful and loving bond with her significant other, Rick. She is survived by her siblings Robert (Sue) and Suzie (Matt), and is preceded in death by her brother Steve.

A lifelong learner and nature enthusiast, Win went back to school later in life to become a master gardener—just one example of her determination and curiosity. She found joy in cooking, camping, traveling, dancing, and music. She cherished family time, especially game nights, cocktail hour, and moments filled with laughter.

She was a strong woman who raised her children to be independent and kind, leading with strength, a resilient spirit and a heart full of love. Even as her health declined, making life more challenging, her presence and determination never faded. Her mind remained sharp, her heart ever-present, and her love unwavering. She continued to show up for the people she loved, never missing a milestone — whether sitting proudly in the stands or on the sidelines, she showed up for her grandchildren with fierce devotion. Always cheering, always proud.    

She will be remembered for her perseverance, her kind, fun-loving nature, and for always being the last one on the dance floor. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the friends she held close.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Win’s memory to Hospice of Gladwin Area or Gladwin County Council on Aging Meal Program (Beaverton Manor) where she proudly volunteered.
