Obituary of Donald Alvin Lockrey
Donald Alvin Lockrey, age 93, of Evert, peacefully passed away May 16th 2025. A celebration of life will be held 1 pm Saturday, May 31st 2025 at The Sanctuary Church, 7365 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek. Visitation 11 until time of service. Luncheon following service at the church.
Donald was born February 28th 1932 In Flint, the son of the late Russel and Ida (Gilbert) Lockrey. He was self-employed as an Upholsterer and built trailers for many years. He enjoyed hunting on his property, camping on the Au Sable River and sitting in the backyard enjoying wildlife with his partner Gail of 45 years.
Donald is survived by children; Kenneth (Gail - deceased) Lockrey and Guy (Kay) Lockrey; Jim Rodgers, Tracy (Robert) Meyers and Darren Rodgers; Timothy (Loresa) Finton, Robin Hartman, Tina (Steven) Mcsigue. Many grand and great-grandchildren. Sisters, Freda Thompson and Pat Nurmi.
Preceded in death by his partner Gail Rodgers and his daughter Demetra (Lockrey) Bison, son Gary Mcsigue; by his parents Russel and Ida Lockrey; Brothers - Glen Lockrey, Ted Lockrey, Kenneth Lockrey, Ivan Lockrey. Sisters – Norma Barnes, Hertha Keen, Loretha Childs.
