Obituary of Timothy Peter Barocko
Beloved husband, father, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle passed away Friday, May 30, at his home in the loving presence of his family, after a brief illness. He was 68 years old, born April 24, 1957, to the late Michael and Doris (Schneider) Barachkov in Saginaw, Michigan. He married the love of his life, Margo Houston on August 17, 1985. They were blessed with two sons, Kyle (Allison) and Sam.
Tim was a great husband and father - a “family first” man who loved to travel. He and Margo enjoyed many tropical vacations, seeking to find the perfect beach. Their very best trips were when Kyle, Sam, and Allison joined them. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Lions (even during the 0 and 16 season). GO LIONS!
Tim was an accomplished musician – an amazing guitar player and vocalist. Throughout his professional career his music brought tremendous joy to those who heard him play. He performed in several bands, duos and most recently as “It’s Just Tim”. Chances are, anyone who has followed live music over the years in the Tri-Cities has heard Tim’s music. Tim was very devoted to his craft and shared this with many up-and-coming musicians, both young and old. In addition, he entertained many residents in local assisted living facilities.
For many years Tim was employed at Majestic Vans in Thomas Township. He used his artistic skills in the graphic department designing stripe packages for vans.
Tim was well-known as a compassionate, caring person who truly never knew a stranger. He had an abundance of friends. Among those were brothers Buz and Brent Albertson, Bob Greif, Danny Hellus, Donna Taylor, Jim Theisen, Mark Ode, Mike Mathis, Miles Hoffer, Rick Riechenbach and too many more to list.
Tim is survived by his sisters, Michele (Bill) Loiacano, Mary (Dan) Wall, and Kimberly Barachkov, as well as Mum, his sisters-and brothers-in law , Carole (Carl) Cryderman, Kay (Dan) Castillo, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Tim is predeceased by his father-in-law, Lee “Pop” Houston and his music mentor Brian “Buz” Ashton.
Please consider a gift to the Covenant Health Care Foundation - Cancer Care Center Oncology or Covenant Hospice Fund in Tim’s name.
Details of a Celebration of Tim’s life will be announced on his It’s Just Tim Acoustic Facebook page.
Until we gather, please celebrate Tim’s memory with a big bowl of popcorn, an ice cold Corona (or Mt. Dew), while listening to your favorite Beatles song.
“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” Lennon McCartney.
