Obituary of Barbara Wooll Murdock

Barbara (Barb) W. Murdock

Our beloved Mom and Gram, Barbara (Barb) Murdock, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Nottingham Place Assisted Living, holding her daughter Kathy’s hand. She was 92 years old.

Barb was born March 26, 1933, in Detroit, MI, to the late Warren W. and F. Aileen (Rawson) Wooll.  She resided in the Detroit area most of her life, moving to Midland, MI to be near her daughter in 2019, after a fall. She worked various administrative jobs throughout her life, but her passion was needle crafting and quilting. She made numerous beautiful and whimsical baby quilts, gifting them to all her grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren, as well as to many friends and family members. She also loved reading and doing crossword puzzles, but most of all cherished being “Gram” to 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Ronald (Janina) Murdock, Thomas (Susan) Murdock, Kathleen (Anthony) Biskupski and Robert (Kelli) Murdock; grandchildren Lindsay Murdock, Christopher (Morgan) Murdock, Andrew (Sara) Murdock, Trevor (Abigail) Dahl, Carolyn (James) O’Hearn, Juliana (Zachariah) Anderson and Steven Murdock; and great-grandchildren Charlotte and Cameron Murdock, Saida, Makenza and Emberlyn Trznadel-Murdock, Elowen Dahl, Jameson and Declan O’Hearn, and Mason, Easton and Bryson Anderson. She also leaves a dear cousin Carol Fuller, who wrote her faithfully, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings Warren Wooll Jr., Beverly Turner and Aileen Moore, nieces Patti Ramirez and Laura Batzer, and by her beloved granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Murdock.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses, aides and staff of Nottingham Place, who truly treated her with care, love and respect, as well as the nurses and staff at Heartland Hospice.

Per her wishes, Barb was cremated and no service will be held. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Nottingham Place, Midland, MI.
