Obituary of Rodney Richard Heck
Rodney Richard Heck “Hot Rod”, age 69 of Elkton, MI died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City.
Rodney was born June 3, 1956, in Cass City to the late Ernest and Ruth (Anderson) Heck. He grew up in Elkton, MI and graduated from Lakers Highschool in 1975.
In the mid 70's Hot Rod began roasting hogs for friends and family and turned that into a successful career, along with deer processing and auctioneering. Next year would have been his 50th year in business.
He was a member of the Caseville Chamber of Commerce and the Elkton Lions Club and donated his time and resources to his local communities.
When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his significant other, Janet Richards; his brother Ronald (Ester) Heck; daughters: Andrea Heck, Thera (William) Harder, and Meaghan Heck; granddaughters: Cameron, Annalise, and Avery and two nieces and a nephew.
A celebration of life will be held at his residence on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 2pm. For more information or location details, please contact his family directly.
