Obituary of Rachell Ione Delaney
Rachell Ione Delaney, affectionately known as Chelly to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan, after a short illness. Born on August 3, 1953, in Bay City, Michigan, Chelly was the cherished daughter of Florence and Bernard Braun. She grew up in a lively household with her siblings Bernie, Jackie, Ken, and Ronn.
A woman of many interests, Chelly was known for her love of playing cards, camping under the stars, and cheering for the Detroit Tigers. Her creativity was evident in the beautiful woodworking projects, crafts, and sewing pieces she crafted, which were treasured by her loved ones. Chelly's hands were rarely still, as she found joy in creating and sharing her art with others.
Chelly's kindness and loving nature were the threads that wove her family together. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted husband, Robert Craig Delaney, and her beloved children, Patrick McKellar and his wife Rebecca, Lynnmarie LoPresto and her husband Billy. Chelly was a proud grandmother to Rayden Haswell; Ashleighn, Lilyan, and Lauryn McKellar; Mackenzie and Chloe Galbraith, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
She was preceded in departure by her sister Bernie Conrad, her brother-in-law Doug Conrad, nephew Jason Braun, and her parents, Florence and Bernard Braun, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms and a deck of cards ready for a heavenly game. She leaves behind her dear siblings, Jackie Schultz and her husband Mike, Ken Braun and his wife Cindy, and Ronn Braun along with his significant other Mary Schultz. Chelly's nieces and nephews will also feel the absence of her presence profoundly.
As we say goodbye to Chelly, we are reminded of the warmth of her smile, the gentleness of her touch, and the generosity of her heart. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will be treasured forever. Rachell Ione Delaney's life was a beautiful patchwork of love, laughter, and creativity, and she will be deeply missed by all.
