Obituary of Dolores Marie Cassada

Dolores (Dee) M. Cassada of Caseville, MI went to be with Jesus on June 26, 2025, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.  Dee was born on September 10, 1943, to Francis and Irene Gilbert of Bay City MI.  Dee enjoyed crocheting and a multitude of other crafts, casinos and was a life-long dog lover. She is most known for her sarcastic wit and snappy comebacks and was loyal to anyone who called her “friend”. Dee is survived by her four children; Penny Phelps of Key West FL, Kelly (Patrick) Stepanski of Houghton Lake MI, Frank Phelps III of Caseville MI and Teri Cassada of Caledonia, MI; six grandchildren Nicole Penno, Kayla (Jeremy) Stepanski, Meagen Phelps, Frank Phelps IV, Kaleb Hinton and Kirsten Burrow and seven great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Irene Gilbert and the love of her life Lu Ray (Duke) Cole.  A special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Dee's nurse Tanya Noble, who cared for her until the end with dignity, respect and transparency which made the journey one of peace, understanding and support.  To honor Dee's wishes there will be no services.  We invite you to celebrate Dee’s memory in your own way and know she will be with us all in spirit.  Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
