Paul George

Obituary of Paul Edward George

Paul Edward George, affectionately known as "Cowboy" to his friends and family, left this world on July 4, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on November 10, 1963, in Owosso, Michigan, Paul's journey came to a peaceful close in Hemlock, Michigan, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Cowboy's life was one marked by a warm and adventurous spirit, which endeared him to all who knew him. He was a man whose laughter and good-natured humor were as expansive as the Michigan skies he cherished. Paul's early years in Ovid laid the foundation for a life filled with love, laughter, and the great outdoors.

In his professional life, Paul was a dedicated and skilled worker in the telecommunications industry. His career began with GTE, transitioned through Verizon, and culminated at Frontier Communications. His commitment and expertise in his field were only matched by his ability to make workplace friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Family was the cornerstone of Paul's world. He was a loving father to his daughters, Brandy (Austin) Henrikson, Beverly (Dylan) Murphy, and Brittany (Brandon) George. His role as a grandfather to Brantley, Connor, and Erabelle brought him immense joy. Paul welcomed his granddaughter, Alice Claire Henrikson, with open arms in heaven on July 5, 2025. Paul was a brother to Mark, Jeff, and Dale, and though predeceased by his parents, Don and Elizabeth George, their values and love continued to resonate in his life. Paul's heart found companionship in his girlfriend, Kim Spitler, and he embraced her son Brennan Kuchar as his own. Paul maintained a caring relationship with his ex-wife, Anna Ford, with whom he shared his beloved daughters.

An avid outdoorsman, Cowboy's passion for hunting, fishing, and camping with his daughters was a significant part of who he was. He shared countless stories around campfires and under the open sky, creating memories that would become his legacy. Farming with his best friend, Wesley Swanson, was another of Paul's cherished pastimes, reflecting his connection to the land and community.

Paul's life was accompanied by the constant presence of his loyal Plott Coon Hound, Locker. Their bond was a sight to behold and spoke volumes of Paul's loving and friendly disposition.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Cowboy will remember him as a man who could light up a room with his humor and easygoing personality. He was the embodiment of a life well-lived and a heart freely given. His legacy will live on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the stories shared among friends, and the quiet moments in the great outdoors that he so loved.

Paul Edward George's journey on earth may have ended, but the echoes of his love and laughter will resonate for generations to come. He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered, as a man who lived life with an open heart and a generous spirit.
