Obituary of Lucille Martha Briggs

Lucille Martha Briggs, known affectionately as Luci to her friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 7, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on June 21, 1947, in Marlette, Michigan.  Her final days were spent in Saginaw, Michigan surrounded by family.

Luci was a proud graduate of Mayville High School, leading her to a dedicated career as a janitorial specialist at Kaumagraph in Millington, Michigan. Luci took great pride in her work, with great care.

Her commitment to excellence at work was matched by her involvement in her church St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic church in the Vassar community. As a devout Christian, Luci's faith and spirited nature were her inspiration.

Beyond her work and religious commitments, Luci had a passion for life's simple pleasures. She was an avid softball player, cook and enjoyed spending time camping where she could be found sitting by the campfire sharing stories.  Luci cherished the time spent with her family.

Luci Briggs is preceded in death by her loving husband Larry Briggs and will be missed by family and friends including her son Larry Briggs (Teena Briggs) and daughter Susan Malek (Martin Malek) her grandchildren Brooke Hamel (Matthew Hamel), Jordyn Briggs, Lawrence Briggs, Jacob Malek, Sydney Weatherbee (Kyle Weatherbee) and Tyler Malek and her great-grandchildren Jaxin Hamel, Clarkston Hamel, Grant Hamel and Stella Weatherbee.  As we bid farewell to Luci, we celebrate a life lived with love and service.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini Parish, 334 Division St., Vassar, Michigan 48768.
