Obituary of Paul Silas McGimpsey

Paul Silas McGimpsey, 63 of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, went to be with his Lord on July 18, 2025, due to invasive cancer.

He spent much of his youth in the Belding, Michigan area. Paul served his country as a chaplain assistant in the army from 1980-1982 when he was honorably discharged. Paul was a dedicated health care worker; his last place of employment was with Isabella Medical Care Facility in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Rachael McGimpsey, 57, of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, his son, Patrick McGimpsey, 33, of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, daughter Katherine McGimpsey, 32, of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, his granddaughters, Coraline McGimpsey, 10, of Mount Pleasant, Michigan and Molly Anna McGimpsey, 2, of Greenville, Michigan.

He is also survived by his siblings; Cindy Hoover, 58, Andeson, Indiana, Michelle Faser, 54, Anderson, Indiana, Rachael Snyder, 52, of Auburn, Washington, his nephews; David Bissell, 37, of Fenwick, Michigan, John Hunt, 31 of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Calvin Frey, 32 of Auburn, Washington, nieces; Beth Conrad, 35 of Lyons, Michigan, Chyna Frey, 30, who is serving as a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corpsand his great nephew, Ezera Smith,9, of Lyons, Michigan.

He was predeceased in death by his loving mother, Bernadine Brandow, 1946-2014, Ithaca, Michigan and his father, Paul Jeffers, 1944-2012, Fernwood, Idaho. He was also predeceased by his beloved sister Louise Bissell,1963-2023, Alma, Michigan and niece Christin Schooner,43, who passed away on July 31, 2025, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

There will be a memorial for Paul on August 30, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. at Maranatha Baptist Church, 5282 East Airport Road, Mount Pleasant, Michigan 48858.
