Patricia Pleune

Obituary of Patricia Lorraine Pleune

Patricia Loraine Chapman/Pleune, better known as Patty or Pat, died on July 28, 2025. She was currently residing in Sanford, Michigan, and was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 2,1937 to Rockwell and Jennie Chapman.

She was a Member of the North Midland Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She loved The Holy Bible and sharing the Good News of God’s Kingdom in the ministry, and teaching others to love her Heavenly Father, Jehovah.

In 1969, filled with enthusiasm, faith, and hope, Pat and her family moved from Grand Rapids up north to Rogers City, where there was a need for more evangelizers. There, their life was filled with overwhelming blessings, joy, love as well as adventure.

Pat was a comedian and a faithful mother, friend and teacher.  Her joyful, funny and witty, warm and loyal personality was an encouraging example to all.  Her open-door policy and delicious food brought to their home a steady stream of beloved family, along with new acquaintances and dear friends.

She enjoyed having her hair and nails done, singing, cooking, camping, boating, sewing, and most of all, she loved her role in God’s Grand Purpose.  As a result, she leaves this heritage to more than 33 family members who have been blessed with the same faith, hope, and love.  More than 40 others have experienced those same rich blessings by becoming a part of her extended family.

She lost in death her parents Rockwell and Jennie Chapman and her husband, Ronald James Pleune. She is survived by three children, James Bruce Pleune and wife Jackie, Julie Christine Pleune/Guzman, Jeffery Darryl Pleune and wife Christine; four grandchildren, James Pleune, Janelle Haner, MiaNani Sweet, and Emilio Guzman; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bruce, Larry, Rick, and Wayne Chapman; two sisters, Vicki Smith and Nancy Hess; and many nieces and nephews.

After a lengthy barrage of difficult circumstances, a long battle with health issues, and the ravages of old age, she sleeps in death awaiting the resurrection to a paradise earth as Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ have promised.
