Kathleen Ann Thomson, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Midland, Michigan. Born on April 3, 1948, in San Diego, California, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Moore.
Kathleen was a woman of compassion, grace, and quiet strength. In 1985, she earned her nursing degree from Grossmont Community College, launching a career that would become her life’s calling. As a dedicated and tender-hearted nurse, she touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues with her care, kindness, and tireless devotion. Nursing was never just a job for Kathleen—it was a reflection of her deep commitment to serving others.
She was first married to James Norman Hankins, with whom she shared two beloved daughters. After his passing in 2005, Kathleen found love again and married Adrian Thomson (Nick) in 2013. Their union brought together a blended family that she embraced with an open heart. She became a cherished stepmother, as well as a proud step-grandmother and great-grandmother.
Kathleen found beauty and joy in life’s simple moments. She was an avid seamstress, known for creating thoughtful, handmade gifts for those she loved. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit—vibrant, colorful, and full of life. Whether with a needle and thread or a trowel in hand, she brought care and intention to everything she did. Kathleen also had a lifelong love for elephants, which she admired for their intelligence, strength, and family bonds. Over the years, she built a treasured collection of elephant figurines and artwork, each piece
