Obituary of Lois June Bailey
Lois June Bailey, of Midland, Michigan, passed away on August 7, 2025, while camping with her family in Cadillac, Michigan, at the age of 92.
Born on September 22, 1932, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Vernon and Lydia McClain, Lois lived a life marked by selflessness and devotion to her family and community. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandma, and friend whose caring nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
Lois was the beloved wife of the late Richard Raymond Bailey, with whom she shared a beautiful, enduring 65-year marriage until his passing in 2017. Together, they created a warm, inviting home filled with laughter, love, and treasured memories. Lois’s legacy endures through her devoted children: Pamela Bailey, Beverly (Mark) Witkop, Richard (Wendy) Bailey, Brenda (Duane) Zienert, Robert (Norma) Bailey, Donald (Kimberly) Bailey, and Dennis (Elayne) Bailey; as well as 16 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Lois also was devoted to many wonderful siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews she loved dearly. As a homemaker, she excelled with joy and pride, nurturing a close-knit family.
A proud graduate of Midland High School, Lois exemplified hard work and dedication in every aspect of her life. Her commitment to her family was paramount, and she was a cornerstone of strength and support for her loved ones. Lois’s faith was a vital part of her life; baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 13, 1962, she lived her faith by regularly sharing the Bible’s truths and offering assistance to those in need.
Lois had a passion for life and enjoyed many activities. She was an avid golfer, even achieving the sought-after hole-in-one. Bowling was another pastime in which she excelled and found great joy. Camping trips were a cherished family tradition, providing countless opportunities for adventure and bonding. Above all, Lois treasured the simple pleasures of spending time with her family, playing games, and creating lasting memories.
Those who knew Lois will remember her as a patient, loving, selfless, and generous person. Her ability to give without expecting anything in return was a testament to her character. She had a remarkable way of making everyone around her feel special, loved and valued. Lois’s unwavering support and unconditional love were the cornerstones of her family’s happiness and success.
Her loved ones find comfort in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection, as described in John 5:28, 29, where those sleeping in death will awake to life on earth. One of Lois’s favorite scriptures, Psalm 37:10, 11, highlights Jehovah’s promise that wickedness will end and peaceful conditions will prevail on earth.
