Obituary of Mark Devere Frederick
Mark Frederick left this earth on August 17, 2025 peacefully in his home after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. His family takes comfort knowing he’s on the other side dancing a two-step with his mother Opal and telling his father Jack how he continued his legacy of spoiling the youngest family members.
He is survived by his daughters, who he would tell anyone who would or wouldn’t listen, that they both were MSU Spartans, Rachael Hart and Jenny Keane. His two sons in-law (though to him they were just sons) Patrick Hart and Albert Keane. His reason for hope was his 4 grandchildren: Annabelle, Grace, Jackson & Evelyn. He lived to spoil them.
He is also survived by his brother Mike and sister in-law (he’d hate that we wrote that) Dawn who were his biggest advocates and supporters for many years. He is survived by his brother Cary and his sister Debra who will miss his stubbornness. His brother Kenneth was waiting for him on the other side running a karaoke machine.
He will be missed by his nieces and nephews including his oldest niece, Shawn whom cared for him until the end.
He is survived by many grand nieces and nephews who will miss his generous heart and desire to spoil them whenever he could with candy and other treats.
He believed everyone deserved kindness and respect. He would give his last dollar to someone if he thought they needed it and often did. His road wasn’t always an easy one but in the words of Garth Brooks “I could have missed the pain, but I’d have missed the dance.”
The family is working on a celebration of life.
