Obituary of Aloysius Rufin Kubacki, Jr.
Aloysius R. Kubacki, age 86, of Ubly, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe. His wishes were to be cremated and the family will be having a private Catholic Funeral Mass. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Courtney Manor. Their care, kindness and time never went unnoticed.
Aloysius is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn of Ubly; son, Marvin Kubacki of Ubly; two daughters, Pamela (Michael) Booms of Ruth and Kimberly (Troy) Ziehm of Ubly; six wonderful grandchildren, Nicole (fiance Justin Tomlinson) Booms of Grand Haven, Kurt (Brittany) Booms of Oreana, IL, Sarah (fiance, Benjamin Nemeth) Peters of Berkley, Laura (Andrew) Ferry of Bay City, Zachary Ziehm of Ubly, and Hally Ziehm of Mount Pleasant. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Eli and Emily of Bay City; many nieces and nephews; siblings, Mary Ann Wisneski, Florence "Pat" Vogel and Bernard Kubacki. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Helen Kubacki, Rita Helewski, Clarence Kubacki, Irwin Kubacki, Stanley Kubacki, Mildred Lamke, and Rose Mary Wisneski.
Aloysius was born on October 7, 1938 in Huron County to Aloysius and Lucy (Smaglinski) Kubacki. He married JoAnn Duda on August 21, 1965, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bad Axe, MI. He attended Kelly School - Bingham No.1, graduated from the 8th grade, and worked diligently on the family farm. For 24 years, he served as a skilled mechanic at Ubly Ford Tractor Sales, and worked at Gemini Plastics for 22 years. He continued farming until he fully retired in 2021. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church (Good Shepherd Parish) of Ubly. He was a proud family man and a testament to the enduring power of love, faith, and family. He had great patience, a kind heart, and was a natural storyteller. Through the years you could find him gliding across the dance floor with his wife, JoAnn of nearly 60 years to his favorite Polish music.
