Obituary of Linda Susan Knight

Linda Susan Knight, 75, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 after a brief illness. She was born on June 8, 1950, to the late Edward and Carlene King. She was retired from Central Michigan University. During her time at CMU she served as the union president for several years. While in the union, and after, it was her passion to advocate for others. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her morning coffee with her husband, Doug, spending time with her dogs Rocky, Joey and Vinny, having dinner with and talking politics with her son, Adam, talking and reminiscing with her sisters, Cathy and Julie, and talking with her grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, Jack and Angelo. She loved Christmas, especially decorating and putting up lights, and she made it a very special time for her family. Linda enjoyed doing arts and crafts and making things sparkle. Linda also enjoyed gardening and planting flowers.

Linda is survived by her husband, Doug Knight, her son Adam (Sara) Philo, grandchildren Emily Hadder, Dylan Hadder, Jack Philo and Angelo Ribot, sisters Cathy (Kirk) Lewis, Julie (Henry) Kubin, and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Carlene (Fulk) King, brother Jeffrey King, daughter Burnadette (Brandie) Philo.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 405 N. Saginaw Rd., Midland, MI 48640, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 am. The family will receive family and friends at the church at 10:00 am for visitation. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the wishes of the family.
