Obituary of Robert Charles Ervin
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Rob” Charles Ervin, age 63, who went fishing in heaven on Friday, August 29, 2025. Rob was known affectionately as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He lived in Bay City, Michigan, with his loving wife, Luann. Rob will always be remembered as a man of kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to others. Known for his warm smile and welcoming spirit, he was the kind of person who never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone he knew. Rob's life was a testament to service, love, and community, and left a permanent mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born December 30, 1961, to Williard Ervin and Kay Ervin (Cavanaugh). He was raised in Bay City and graduated from TL Handy High School in 1980. Rob was an All-Star athlete, picked to play for an International Hockey Team that went to Sweden, as well as playing for the Means Stamping Baseball Team, which was later inducted into the Saginaw Sports Hall of Fame for winning the Connie Mack World Series in 1980. After high school, Rob moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 1982 and later moved back home to Bay City in 1998.
Rob touched countless lives with his generosity and leaves behind a legacy of love and music that will never be forgotten. Rob and his wife, Luann, have owned and operated the legendary rock club, Bemo's, since 2007. Bemo's offers an opportunity for artists to showcase their talents and create lifelong memories. Bemo's was Rob and Lou's heart and soul, a place where he made strangers into family, and where his memory will live on in every story, song, and smile shared there.
He found great joy in the outdoors. Whether it was casting a line on the water with his kids, heading out on a hunting trip, mushroom picking, or spending the day on the golf course with family and friends. Most of all, Rob loved ending his days by chasing sunsets. His passion for the outdoors reflected his love for life, his respect for nature, and his deep appreciation for time well spent with his kids, grandkids, and friends. He especially treasured the moments at his home away from home in West Branch, Michigan, where he and his amazing wife built memories together that will last forever.
Rob is missed by his loving wife, Luann Ervin (Corrion) of 26 years; sister, Vicki Ervin (Nancy); children, Liz, Justine, Jackie (Nick), Alex, and Max; grandchildren, James, Lily, Emily, Abby, Bella, Jaxen, Olivia Lou, Dakota, and Henry.
A celebration of Rob’s life will be held on October 12, 2025, at 3 pm at Bemo’s in Bay City, Michigan. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
