Obituary of John Walter VanWezel

John VanWezel, age 79, of Oscoda Michigan, passed away September 4, 2025 at McLaren Bay Region. He was born July 29,1946 to the late Henry and Ruby VanWezel. John was a caring and devoted husband to his wife Kitty, whom he Wed in July 2016. John was a loving father and step-father to John, Jay, Heidi, Tracy (Mark), and JW; grandfather to Alley, Bailey, (Quinten,) John Jr., Evan , Austin , Dillon, and Cheyenne; one great-grandson, Oak; and many adopted grandkids. John Graduated from Handy High School in 1964 and then went on to work at Valley Welding in Bay City. He was born and raised in Bay City Michigan, and was an avid hunter and taxidermist, collected Civil War Memorabilia, and loved a good sale whether it be a garage sale or one at Goodwill. John was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruby; his son, John; step-son, JW; and his 2nd wife, Donna.
