Robert C. Kinnison, “Rob or Bob” , of Durand (formerly of Clarkston) passed away on September 5, 2025 at his home at the age of 75 years old. He was born on June 12, 1950 in Greenbrier, Missouri to the late Norman and Beverly Kinnison.
Robert was employed by General Motors and retired in 2006 after 38 years of service at Pontiac Stamping. Robert served as an EMT for 10 years with General Motors after 3 years of serving as an orderly at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital where he got to spend a day with his favorite Red Wings player, Steve Yzerman.
Robert was a great and loving man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Always taking care of everyone else even in his last days. Robert was an avid Red Wings fan, loved his family, bowling, music, and classic cars. He attended every Woodward Dream Cruise since it started (1995) to this year with a surprise Dream Cruise in front of his home arranged by a special niece.
Robert married Cathy Doty in October 1974. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2009. He then married Cindy Farrow on August 19, 2012.
Robert is survived by his wife of 13 years Cindy; his beloved dog, Maggie; sons, Robert J Kinnison and Andy Kinnison; step-sons, Darrell R. Farrow and Randy (Jamie) Farrow; grandchildren, Chasity , Jordan, Bruce, and Travis; brothers, Norm (Pat) Kinnison and Dan (Carolyn) Kinnison; sister-in-law, Mona Monte; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Frank and Terry; and niece, Carrie.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, 509 Main St., Morrice Michigan 48857. The family will receive guests from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Please feel free to wear Red Wings or Dream Cruise attire, or his favorite color orange.
In lieu of flowers, those planning to express sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Detroit Red Wings Foundation or the Michigan EMS Foundation.
