Obituary of Craig Charles Druskins

Craig Charles Druskins was born on November 2,1944 to Marie and Peter Druskins.  He grew up in Lincoln Park, Michigan, attended Lincoln Park High School, and then attended Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering.  He was employed by The Dow Chemical Company and retired after more than 30 years with the company. 

Craig was an outdoor enthusiast and loved to share his time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, camping, downhill skiing, boating, playing softball, hockey, and especially golf.  He was a lifetime MSU Alumnus and die-hard fan of any Spartan sporting event, especially MSU football. He was always ready with a “How ‘bout them Spartans” text following a win in any of the sporting events and known for his well-stocked tailgate for in person games. 

Craig moved to Indian River following retirement where he joined the Indian River Golf Club, The Shooters, and the Eagles, and spent over 25 years enjoying new and lifelong friendships.  He loved to celebrate important life moments generously, and truly embraced the work hard, play hard approach to life while instilling in his children a desire to succeed and to live a life filled with adventure.

Craig passed away on September 23, 2025 after years of courageous fighting through several chronic illnesses with support from family and several Indian River friends to ensure he could remain up in northern Michigan.  Mr. Druskins is survived by his children, Carrie (Todd) DeVee, Leanne Bishop, Paula (Derek) Haddad, David (Mackenzie) Druskins, and Christina Druskins; eight grandchildren; his brother, Tom Druskinis; his nieces; and many, many lifelong friends.

A memorial service open house is planned for October 18, 2025 at the Indian River Golf Club with a light lunch and drinks from 11:30 am – 3pm.   A eulogy will be held at 1pm, family and friends are encouraged to share memories of Craig at that time.
