Timothy Kight

Obituary of Timothy Alan Kight

Timothy Alan Kight, lovingly known as Tim to his friends and family, completed his earthly journey and entered eternal rest on September 25, 2025, in Midland, Michigan with the same quiet dignity that marked his life. Born in Oakland County to the late William Lee Kight and Helen Joan Kight, Tim was a beacon of faith and a testament to the transformative power of grace. A man of profound faith, Tim's education was not confined to the walls of a classroom, but was evident in the God-given gifts he possessed. His deep understanding and ability to teach the Word of God in its purity were the cornerstones of his life's work. Tim's devout conviction was the compass that guided him, and his Christian faith was the light that illuminated his path.

He was a cherished member of his church community, where he served not only as a Pastor, but also as a steadfast beacon of hope for over a decade. Tim's legacy is continued by his beloved spouse, Ronda K. Kight, and his siblings, Jeff Kight and Gary Kight, who, along with many friends and church members, will forever cherish his memory. His pastoral heart, kindled by the light of Christ, and his unwavering commitment to his calling, were sources of inspiration and strength to all who knew him. Beyond his ministry, Tim was passionate about living out the scripture from Isaiah 61:3, which resonated deeply with his life's mission: "To grant consolation and joy to those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God."  He embodied these words through his tireless efforts to bear one another's burdens, a true testament to his compassionate and generous spirit. Described by those who loved him as faith-filled, creative, and passionate, Tim's influence extended far beyond the walls of the church. His creative approach to ministry and his fervent passion for uplifting others were the hallmarks of his life. As Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."  Indeed, Tim's spirit and teachings have become an indelible part of the lives he touched.  Timothy Alan Kight's journey on earth may have concluded, but his legacy will continue to ripple through the lives of those he inspired. A man of God, a loving husband, a caring brother, and a faithful pastor, Tim's life was a testament to the power of unwavering faith, and the beauty of a life devoted to service. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will be treasured and his life celebrated as a reflection of the divine love he so fervently believed in and shared with all.

A letter of affirmation from David Kieser,  to Tim Kight. The following is offered in loving memory of Timothy Kight.

As a longtime friend of Timothy Kight I was blessed when his beloved wife, Ronda, gave me opportunity to share some words in honor of Tim's life and ministry within the Michigan prison system.

In the early 90's, Tim and I first met while eating breakfast at the prison chow hall. I invited him to attend our prison chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship, and that was the beginning of not only a great friendship, but also a blessed partnership in ministry.

Tim had an infectious passion for Jesus which, in so many ways, translated into a heart of dedicated service to the brothers. His example made him a natural leader that men respected and easily connected with. Tim helped develop and maintain our church service teams that seemed to carry the same passion that burned within his own heart. Though I couldn't have asked for a better man to oversee those teams, it soon became obvious that God's hand was upon him for something more.

A God given gift to teach the Word soon became the channel for his "Jesus Passion" to flow through. This was followed by a blooming pastoral heart that began to season the gift with love and wisdom that nurtured and encouraged men to grow strong in faith. When I moved on to begin works at other prisons, Tim faithfully pastored that church for over ten years before moving on to other things that God had prepared for him. Truly, he was greatly loved and deeply appreciated by so many who found the light of Christ through his life.

In due season, Tim was released from prison and experienced the joy of sharing the best years of his life together with the wife of his dreams - a good and faithful woman who has loved him to the end.

God bless you Ronda. Though we will, in our own ways, deeply miss Tim's presence with us here on earth, we cannot help but celebrate the fact that he is now face to face with the ONE who will never forget his labor of love toward His name, in that he has ministered to the saints. (Heb. 6:10)

My love and prayers are with you, knowing that God in His great love, works even these most difficult things together for our good as we continue to trust, rest, and hold fast to His unfailing love!

With great love and honor, David Keiser

A letter of affirmation to my husband, Timothy Alan Kight.

It's with tears of joy I speak, that I am honored to have been given the privilege to walk along side a man chosen of God and loved by God. Psalm 15:2 says, he who walks and lives uprightly and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

God's sovereign, gracious and compassionate nature continues to bless and touch our life with tangible glimpses of heaven on earth.  We say, Come Lord Jesus, Come.

I share these words in the "Life giving" and loving memory of my husband, Timothy Alan Kight. Know my heart is with you, forever, and always, your wife, Ronda K. Kight.
