Patricia Rae Ludwig, affectionately known as Patty to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 29, 1959, in Lapeer, Michigan, to James Audrell and Judith Rae Baker (Sweeney). Patty's warmth and vivacious spirit were a gift to all who knew her. Patty's life was one of passion and creativity, marked by her love for gardening, sewing, and various crafts. Her artistic talents brought beauty into the world and joy into the hearts of those around her. A devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers, Patty's enthusiasm for the game was only matched by the pride and excitement she felt when cheering on her grandchildren at their own sporting events.
Family was the cornerstone of Patty's life, and she was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her doting children, Randall James and his wife Brenda, and D'arcey Rae and her husband Brad. Patty's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Olivia (Livie), Aaliyah (Toot), Jonathan (Buddy), and Addysin (Punk), as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Elliot Grayson and Esimae Grayce. Her memory will also be treasured by her many step-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Patty's siblings, James Baker, John Baker, and Audra Russell, will fondly remember their sister's laughter and the precious moments they shared. Among the numerous nieces and nephews whom Patty adored, her favorite, Darien Baker, held an exceptional bond with her that will forever be cherished.

She faced every challenge with grace and determination, never losing her ability to smile and find joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her spirit was infectious, and she had the remarkable ability to lift the spirits of everyone she encountered.
