Obituary of Tyra Jean Swartzinski

1964-2025

Tyra Jean Swartzinski, age 60, of Alger, Michigan passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side. 

Born to Lois (Starkey) and Waldo Todd, Tyra grew into a woman whose kindness, laughter, and boundless heart touched everyone who knew her. She built a life full of love and light alongside her husband, Neil Swartzinski, and was a devoted mother to her daughter Samantha Jean Kovach, who was her greatest joy. 

Tyra's warmth extended beyond her family to everyone who crossed her path. Whether it was sharing a story, lending a helping hand, or lighting up a room with her smile, she made people feel they were seen and cared for. She cherished time spent with her sister Amy Merrill and her brother Thomas Todd, and always found ways to keep family at the center of her world. 

Her life was a celebration of love, laughter, and simple joys. Tyras memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and her spirit will continue to inspire kindness in all who knew her. 

She is preceded in death by her mom, Lois Todd; her brother, Randy Todd; and her late husband, Jerry Thomas. 

She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of compassion and joy will forever remain.
