Obituary of Thomas James Battle

Tom passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, with his wife Kellie and children Katy and Steven by his side.   Tom was born on October 9, 1955, to the late Wilfred and Florence (Bugg) Battle.   He married Kellie Battle on August 24, 1979.

Tom was a loving and kind husband, father, and grandfather.   He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, long walks, photography, keeping up with the daily news, and playing with his pet birds. Tom had a lifelong love of finance and had a long career as a Bank Examiner working for the State of Michigan, from which he retired in 2010.

Tom is survived by his wife, Kellie; his son, Steven Battle, and Steven’s partner Melani Martin; daughter, Kathryn (James)Tessmer; grandchildren, Gage Battle, Aiden Battle, James Tessmer, and Emma Lyn Tessmer; his sisters, Nora Paquette and Sharon Ehrlich; brothers, Patrick and Ronald Battle; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Sean Battle, and his brother-in-law Peter Ehrlich.   At Tom’s request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.   A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
