Obituary of Jeannette Anne Hayward
Jeannette Anne Boyd Hayward Owen, of Leslie, Michigan, and previously of Milford, Michigan, passed away on October 9, 2025. She was born August 29, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Evelyn and Belvel Boyd.
She was a lifelong animal lover, and was very knowledgeable in the area of animal husbandry. She and her husband maintained a forty-acre farm for twenty one years, primarily raising heritage breeds that included horses, miniature horses, Zebu cattle, Dexter Cattle, and Dexter British White Cross Cattle. The animal clan was rounded out by dogs, cats, honeybees, llamas, alpacas, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys.
She was a member of the Mid-Michigan Donkey and Mule Association and Michigan Trail Riders. Jeannette was a valued Community Services Officer for the Farmington Hills Police Department for 28 years.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Owen; her son, Walter Hayward (Anita); stepdaughter, Elizabeth Salazar; four grandchildren, Nathan, Kyle, Mia, and Nico; two sisters, Deborah Boyd Mitchell and Christine Boyd Behring; a brother, Jonathan Boyd; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., November 21, 2025, in the Banquet Hall at Baker’s of Milford, 2025 S. Milford Rd., Milford, Michigan, 48381.
