John, age 61, passed away October 17, 2025 at Saint Mary’s Hospital.  He was born September 30, 1964 in Traverse City Michigan to Earl Colmus Sr. and Susan Leppert.

He enjoyed restoring old cars, shooting pool, riding his Harley, taking everyone for boat rides, spending time camping, and having bonfires with family and good friends.            

Surviving are his children, Amanda (Matt) Colmus, John (Alyssa) Colmus, Blake Hoggard, and Mackenzie (Jason) Hedrich; grandchildren, Tayler Smith, Colin Smith, and Oceana Grigg; brothers, Earl (Denise) Colmus and Eric (Xan) Colmus; uncles, Eugene Colmus and Robert Colmus; special friends, Carrie (Jason) Witt and Ziggy (Lisa); and 2 football fields of friends.  He was predeceased by his father Earl Colmus Sr., and several aunts and uncles. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 1, 2025 at Mount Hope Fellowship Church, 1348 E.
