Obituary of Ruth Alice Bodeis

Ruth Alice Bodeis, age 84, a blessing to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at MyMichigan Health, in Midland Michigan. Ruth was born on June 13, 1941, in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan to Alice and Clinton Thomas. She was the cherished wife to Clare W. Bodeis for 65 years. Clare and Ruth were married on August 27, 1960. A devoted mother to Tim Bodeis, Susan (Troy) Moulton, Jean (Brian) Baber, and Deborah Ill. A doting grandmother to William (Katie Riddle) Bodeis, Katie (Mike) Klamerus, Tom Bodeis, Nick (Katie) Bodeis, Tim Albin, Zach Albin, Brandon Baber, Jacob Ill, and Madison Ill. Ruth had five great grandchildren, Ruby, Alice, Benny, Natalie and Westley.

Ruth worked as the Activities Director at Fishers Convalescent Home in Mayville for over 20 years. Ruth loved the residence and they loved her. She retired in 1991 and she and Clare moved from Mayville Michigan, where they raised their four children, to Beaverton, Michigan to fulfill their dream of living on a lake.

Her kindness was a constant, a trait that guided her actions and left a lasting impact on her family, friends, and all who met her. She lived her life with an open heart, welcoming all who crossed her path with a warm smile and a big hug. We celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the incredible mark she leaves on the hearts of those who loved her.

Ruth treasured time with her family above all else, creating a home filled with laughter, love and always having plenty to eat and provide for anyone who stopped by. Ruth loved to entertain family and friends.
