Obituary of Guy Galen Crockett
Guy Galen Crockett, age 98, passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with his family by his side. Guy was born in Alta Iowa on March 12, 1927, and grew up during the great depression with his mother Grace Hille Crockett and four brothers and a sister.
He married his “sugar plum”, Janice E. Albeck of Sioux City IA on June 3, 1960, and together they had four children. He was a drywaller by trade and knew all the ins and outs of the building trades. Although he enjoyed driving kids and their families to the Shriner’s Hospital in Chicago for many years, his greatest joy and pleasure in life, was his grandson Spencer. He was a member of the Elf Khurafeh Shrine, the Masonic Lodge, and the American Legion Post #439. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII, needing his mother’s written consent to enlist because he was only 17 years old at the time.
He is survived by his children,Vicky L. Crockett of South Bend IN, G. Craig Crockett of Saginaw MI, Michelle M. Crockett of Freeland MI, and Chad M. Crockett of Freeland MI; grandchildren, Spencer Galen Crockett of Freeland MI, Stacey Reinke-Johnson of Rochester Hills, and Lisa Crockett, David Crockett, Eric Crockett, and Nicole Crockett-Weltmer, all of California.
He was predeceased by his wife, Janice; sons, Terry L. Crockett and Dennis G. Crockett; and parents, Grace and Garnie.
The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the 3rd floor staff of Covenant Hospital Harrison and the wonderful caregivers from Residential Healthcare Group.
