Obituary of Steven Leonard Shinaver

Steven Leonard Shinaver, known fondly as Steve to his friends and family, passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 64, at McLaren Bay Region. Born on May 11, 1961, in Saginaw, Steve's journey through life was marked by a diverse array of talents and passions that touched the hearts of many.  

Steve was a 1979 graduate of Reese High School, where he was known for his quick wit and boundless energy. He carried these traits into his professional life, which was as varied as his interests. Throughout his years, Steve worked as an auto mechanic, a cook, a delivery truck driver, and a drywaller.

His love for the outdoors was evident to anyone who knew him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His hobbies also extended to the warmth of the kitchen, where he enjoyed cooking, and to his workshop, where he expressed his creativity through woodworking. Steve also loved gardening.

He is survived by his brother, Bill Shinaver, and his sister, Deb (Randy) Bierlein. He was predeceased in death by his mother Betty (Childers) and father William Shinaver.
