Obituary of Patrick James McAra

Patrick James McAra 56 yrs old, known affectionately as Pat to his friends and family, entered into eternal rest on November 20, 2025, at his home in Clio, Michigan. Born on Mother's Day May 13, 1969, in Flint, Michigan, Pat's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, his love for his family, and his passion for life's simple pleasures.

Pat was a man of Christian faith, which guided him throughout his life and provided him with immense strength during his courageous battle with cancer. His laughter, intelligence, and creativity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. As it is written, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23).

Pat attended Lakeville High School and carried the lessons learned there throughout his life. Pat's work ethic was evident in his many years of dedicated service at Keys Pool & Patio alongside his close friend Randy Brown. His industrious nature also shone through during his time with Scott Keys and Fessler & Bowman in the construction industry. Additionally, Pat shared many adventures with his sister Stacey Archer, transporting horses to Florida, a period filled with cherished memories and stories.

Pat survived by his mother, Cynthia Mae Little-Dowen (Joe), and his father, James William McAra. His sister, Stacey Archer, alongside her husband Tom, shared an unbreakable bond with Pat. His daughters, Ashley Palmer and Avery McAra, and his two granddaughters. Pat's extended family, including his cousins, Brandon Little (Jewel), Kyle Little (Bianca), Corinn Burhans (Jeremy), Chrystal Sova, Wesly Little (Celia), and Amy Hernandez, as well as extended family members Pamela Little, Christine Little, Marlyn Bechtel, Pamela Czerkis, and Susan Bechtel, will forever cherish the memories they created with him.

Pat's close friends, Randy Smith, Masson Turner, Randy Brown, Tom & John Gibbs, Tony Jaksa, Stevie Jaska, Bruce Robinson, and Kassie Kagen, will miss his camaraderie, his humor, and his unwavering support. They shared many of life's moments together, strengthening their bonds over the years.

An avid outdoorsman, Pat loved fishing, where he found peace and solace by the water. His passion for playing cards, playing pool, racing cars, building hot rods, mud bogging, dirt bikes, snowmobiling, and artwork reflected his zest for life and his diverse interests. Pat was also a collector at heart, with an impressive array of knives and watches that he treasured. His beloved dog, Willma, was a constant companion and source of comfort.

As we reflect on Pat's life, we remember the joy he brought into our lives. His legacy is one of laughter, love, and the importance of cherishing every moment. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Pat McAra indeed succeeded.

His spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his life's journey serves as an inspiration to us all. Pat's life was a beautiful reflection of his faith, and as he is now in the presence of his Creator, we take comfort in knowing that we will see him again.
